Se hizo un trabajo de equipo a distintos niveles buscando una forma de complementar y reforzar el cumplimiento de las distancias de seguridad.
Dada su importancia, las distancias de seguridad han sido estudiadas con precisión para cada una de las circunstancias laborales y son regularmente difundidas.
El objetivo aquí era aportar, complementar ese trabajo desde otra dimensión.
S2 = SOMOS 2
"Somos 2" translates literaly "We are 2", meaning "There are always two of us,
we are not working alone.
We were searching for something at the heart of sustainability, something nobody would forget, something beyond specific protocols or actions. It occurred to us that remembering that there are always “two of us” was the essence of everything. It’s natural and human. Always knowing there is somebody else, starting at home, making sure our actions are in harmony with those on the different teams at our company. And of course, thinking about our neighbors and the environment.
We created S2 as an internal code to remind us to think about others. We even put up signs on the road used by hundreds of workers when they visit worksites. As a vehicle passes by the sign, a voice from their GPS explains what it means to think about others in that specific place.
It is nice to think about others. And it is good for us. Just like we like being considered and respected.
S2 IS A REMINDER OF SOMETHING AS NATURAL AS IT IS ESSENTIAL
We are not the only people in the world nor the most important:
there are always two of us.
As long as we think about others, we can’t go wrong, either as people or as a company
It is an easy concept to remember in our daily lives.
That is how cultural change is created.
It is the hallmark of a way of life.
Everyone involved knows what that means.
S2 GUIDES AND REMINDS US OF CULTURAL CHANGE.
Working as a team, creating shared value, preferring local businesses, protecting the environment are all natural things when you remember there are Two Of Us (S2).
S2 creates real teamwork where nobody tries to impose the goals of their team over those of others. There are no hierarchies either. There are only shared goals and two-sided solutions.
It is a positive concept that applies not only to the reduction of externalities. It’s not rules. It’s the human understanding behind the rules.
SOMOS 2 IN THE FIELD
We put up a hundred “S2” signs along key routes. It is not marketing. Only those involved understand them.
It is an internal code.
When you drive by one, your truck’s GPS will give you a message.
That way, you will think about the big and small things to keep in mind.
YOU ARE NOT TOLD WHAT TO DO. These are messages that create PERSONAL COMMITMENT on a human level, and WITH THAT, CULTURAL CHANGES.
“An elderly couple lives in this area.
Do your best to keep the noise down. Remember there’s always Two of Us.”
Every individual should be considered!
“Beekeeping area…” You may ask:
“what do I care if there’s bees and beekeepers in this area?”
We should have a comprehensive understanding of sustainability, that is what creates a truly sustainable mentality. It is not simply restrictions applied to my functions.
In any task we perform it is powerful to remember that there are Two of Us, we will undoubtedly do better.
S2 has to do with integrity. It places the responsibility of action in each of our consciences and values.
It connects us to the community. . I respect them and they respect me. I say hello and they say hello back.
